What should we expect in the games against AEK Athens, Olympiacos and Dortmund?

«You should expect us to fight hard in all three matches in order to win«.

On Dimitar Berbatov’s presence in the team and his partnership with him

«He gives us all advice based on his vast experience. It’s great to play along such a great footballer. Having said that however, no team can depend on just one player, whoever he is. It takes a collective effort by all of us to help PAOK reach the next level«!

Do you see the team doing better this season? Out of so many revelations and surprises, such as Pelkas, Berbatov and Kitsiou, who stands out?

«Berbatov will add quality to the team and the rest will bring their passion and enthusiasm«.

On his return to action in the encounter against Veria

«It felt great competing again after two months on the sidelines. I needed that goal badly«.

Your best and worst moments at PAOK?

«My best moment is my goal scored against Tottenham Hotspur. My worst was having to watch the Greek Cup final from the stands«.

Do you prefer to play in a Greek Cup final or in a Greek League deciding encounter?

«In a match that decides the league«.

Do you prefer to spearhead the attack alone, to have a playmaker at your back or play alongside a second striker.

«That is something for the coach to decide. I had the best relation with Salpi«.

Do you believe that the team can achieve more this term compared to last season?

«I know that the team need patience and hard work –and that is what we all must realise«.

Would you leave PAOK to continue your career abroad?

«I am very satisfied at PAOK and don’t entertain such thought. However never say never when speaking of the future«.

What was your worst season at PAOK? Have you ever felt so angry as to be ready to go abroad?

«Last season was one of the worst. Yes, I have thought about going abroad, but not when things were tough at PAOK. I have learned not to jump ship at the sign of hardship, but instead make an effort to help the team«.

Last season’s failure was due mainly to poor planning. What has changed now regarding the season planification?

«Several new people have joined the squad and everything is done according to specific planning«.

Do you believe that there are still players in the team who last season cared more about themselves than the team? If yes, are you bothered by it?

«It’s imperative to function as a team and put the club ahead of everything«.

Can you pinpoint some of the elements that new Sports Director Frank Arnesen has implemented in the team?

«His experience and calmness. He is a vastly experienced and capable person and his presence is beneficiary«.

Kace, Kitsiou, Konstantinidis and Pelkas have all been established in the squad. These are players stemming from the youth ranks of the club. Do you believe in that plan?

«I believe that all clubs, PAOK as well, should rely on their own crop«.

Is there a former player of PAOK that you long to see again with the black-and-white jersey?

«Vieirinha«.

After the draw at Azerbaijan and your weak start in the league, are you concerned with the team’s displays in upcoming games?

«Not at all. We work hard and I believe that things will get better as the season unfolds«.

Is there a possibility to win the Greek League at some point? That is the only way to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage eventually…

«As I said previously, we are working non-stop to win the league at some point«.

Has Igor Tudor earned the trust of longstanding PAOK players? Does he help the younger players evolve? Has he conveyed his philosophy in the group?

«His experience will do wonders for the younger players. Yes, he is trustworthy and we work hard each day to adjust to the new playing style he wants us to adopt«.

If a good offer came from abroad, would you take it? Do you believe there is a specific plan in the club this season?

«Yes, I am confident there is a plan. Right now, I am only interested in PAOK«.

What do you think of this season’s team? Will PAOK win the Greek Cup?

«We will certainly try. As I said before, our team needs hard work and patience«.

How does it feel to be one of PAOK’s skippers? Can you give me a signed shirt?

«It is great to be captain of PAOK. As for the shirt, we can set it up…«.

How do you rate Tudor’s work and effort to change the team’s playing style?

«It is not my place to judge Mr. Tudor’s work. My job is to play football and follow his instructions«.

Do you believe that PAOK can claim the title in one of the competition they are participating in?

«I will repeat it over and over again, at the risk of sounding monotonous. We have a young squad and we need lots of work and patience«.

Which is (or will be) the main difference between last season’s PAOK and the team we will watch this season?

«There is a new philosophy. One can sense the difference from the first games«.

What would you prefere? To win the Greek Cup, the league or passing several rounds in the UEFA Europa League?

«Why should I have to choose among them? All three!«.

What would you like to say to PAOK fans in general and to the “grumpy” ones in particular?

«To be patient«.

Can PAOK apply the 3-5-2 formation successfully?

«Systems in themselves are not that important in football. We need to be performant on the pitch regardless of tactics«.

We all know that your are a fan of PAOK. How much longer do you want to stay at the club of your heart?

«Until I retire from football…«.

How is your relationship with Tzavellas? Your opinion about him?

«We have a good relationship. He is a good player and always brings his 100% to the team«.

Would you join Olympiacos at any point?

«No«.

Do you believe you might lose your place in the starting line-up because of Berbatov’s arrival?

«That is for the coach to decide«.

If the coach can fit you and Berbatov in the same line-up, are you willing to be his wingman and do all the “dirty” work?

«I accept to do the dirty work for my team in general. That is the most important of all«.

How did you feel being on the sidelines for quite some time? How were you in that period?

«I was down psychologically and couldn’t wait for my next official match for PAOK«.

Alexis Tzorvas helped a girl overcome leukemia. Would you do the same?

«Of course. It’s always good to help people in need«.

Can you explain the number on your shirt? Whose idea was it to go for the name “Klaus”?

«My godfather gave me my middle name –Nicholas. It’s the Greek equivalent of Klaus and I guess I got stuck with it«.
