After two bad results in the league, winning at Veria was non-negotiable for PAOK. The “Double-Headed Eagle’s” players were effective this time round and the comfortable 3-0 was a source of satisfaction for the team.

PAOK fans decided that Dimitris Pelkas was the best player on the pitch on that day. He didn’t score, but did all the rest –and in impressive fashion. He led the attack, pressured and cracked the defensive wall of Veria, serving also two assists.

In the poll for Fans’ Man of the Match against Veria, Dimitris Pelkas got 58,88% of the vote, leaving Stefanos Athanasiadis in second place. The skipper of PAOK returned from his injury and proved he is ready to help the team by scoring against Veria. He was rewarded with 11.21% of the vote.

After two years of loans at Apollon Kalamaria and Vitória de Setúbal, Pelkas is back at Toumba, mature enough to establish himself at the “Double-Headed Eagle”.
