Before the draw, Mr. Borovilos and Mr. Girtzikis spoke about the need to improve Greek football and about the new regulations regarding fans’ attendance, match fixing and refereeing.

PAOK FC were represented by board member Dimokratis Papadopoulos, club legal advisor Lambros Birdas and head of Communication and New Media Giotis Panagiotas. Also present was a good friend of PAOK FC, general Frangos Frangoulis. The draw was held by Μichalis Anagnostou, general director of Super League, assisted by young footballers. Among them the co-captain of U15 champions, PAOK’s Lefteris Lyratzis.

PAOK have been drawn against Xanthi on opening day, exactly as it happened two seasons ago. In 2013-14, the “Double-Headed Eagle” hosted the Thrace outfit in Toumba Stadium and won 3-0. In 2011-12, same rival on opening day: PAOK defeated Xanthi 1-0 at home. The two sides have met three more times on matchday one of the league, with Xanthi as hosts: in 1995-1996 (2-2), 2005-06 (1-0) and 2007-2008 (1-0). Overall record of PAOK against Xanthi on opening days: two victories, one draw and two defeats.

On matchday 4, PAOK play host to AEK Athens, on matchday 6 Olympiacos visits Toumba Stadium and on matchday 8 it’s the turn of Panathinaikos to play in Thessaloniki. On matchday 7, PAOK play at Kaftanzoglio Stadium against Iraklis, on matchday 5 they visit Atromitos and on matchday 9 they travel to Tripolis for the Asteras encounter.

As Veria and Kerkyra are involved in pending court cases, their names were replaced by Team A and Team B.
