It was the Best Goal for the month of December and for year 2014 in the polls held on paokfc.gr. It was also voted Best Goal of matchday 6 in the poll organized by Nova, Super League and PSAP. And the accolades keep on coming for the exquisite volley of Facundo Pereyra against Olympiacos at “Georgios Karaiskakis”.
It was a unique goal, both in inspiration and in execution, scored in a highly decisive away clash. The Argentinian’s effort has been collecting accolades ever since. Most recently, it was voted Best Goal of the season in the poll organized by Nova. Facundo Pereyra’s goal got 51% of the votes. After collecting his award, he spoke to Novasports TV:
«It is a very pleasant memory out of a very important game. I only thought about shooting, as there was no space available. When I saw the ball land at the back of the net, I celebrated like a madman with my teammates. I am happy for this award, it’s a huge honour for me».
