AO Chalkida were very weak and their 5-1 defeat at Toumba all but sealed their return to second tier.
PAOK got their opener after just three minutes of play through Stavros Sarafis. In the first half-hour, they were already leading 4-0 courtesy of a brace by Giorgos Koudas (9′, 15′) and a strike by Dimitris Paridis (28’).
For the first time in their top-flight history, PAOK scored four goals in 45 minutes. After the interval however they took their foot off the throttle. Afentoulidis (61′) added the hosts’ fifth goal and Simitris (72’) netted the consolation goal for the visitors.
