Georgiadis: «We must make things easy for us»
Giorgos Georgiadis conceded an interview to Novasports TV ahead of the encounter against PAS Giannina, to be held on Sunday at Toumba Stadium.
Here is what the coach of PAOK said with respect to on- and off-the pitches issues relating to PAOK and to Greek football.
About the victory over AO Kerkyra and his conclusions from it:
“Our overall defensive function was very good. We were almost flawless in defence. All players helped to keep a clean sheet. Even when we were left with 10 players, we managed to keep our pace. As I said after the match, we must do more when in possession, create more chances to score and improve our finishing”.
Whether the ineffectiveness is an individual or a collective problem:
“We must improve our positioning in our attacking deployment. Our players must be in the adequate positions in order to get more options. Meanwhile we expect some of the guys to improve their performance on the attacking front and make things easy for us”.
Whether pressure mounts after PAOK climbed back to second place:
“Not many things change regarding the standings and what may happen in the play-offs. Our players’ self-confidence definitely takes a boost. Victories make them believe more in themselves. Being second is important, but not determining, We have secured our participation in the play-offs and we will try to improve our showings in the remaining three matches of the regular season and be ready for the showdown”.
