About his team’s defensive function:
«We were generous with Panathinaikos. We had the ball and gave it away, our transitions were not good and we made mistakes. Some personal choices were erroneous. When a team score three away goals, they are not supposed to draw, let alone lose… We made a huge effort to take the lead. We scored some amazing goals, but in a span of five minutes we let the 1-2 become 3-2 for no reason at all. I am downbeat as I expected us to win and reduce distances. Now things look tough for us».
About goals coming from the centre:
«What centre are you talking about? Did you see any goals from the centre? Next question…».
About the team’s need to improve their defence:
«We are building a new team. I have been building a new team since February. Does anybody know that? No, just me. It’s only natural that such problems arise. The new guys must understand what we are looking for. That takes time and matches. Panathinaikos cross and score. Why? Because of our positioning. What we had once, we don’t have anymore. There are many things I can’t explain and we have lots of work ahead of us».
About the club’s signings in January and the defence:
«Some players left and some came. We have a problem in the centre axis and cannot cope with the requirements of the games. That is our fault. It’s unacceptable to concede such goals. When we win, this goes unnoticed. But it is the reality and we have to work a lot to remedy that».
About the match in general and how will the team achieve conceding less goals:
«We’ll see. I am satisfied with the team. You watch us lose and base your criticism on the results. Panathinaikos are good in attack and have a boosted morale. However, we had the opportunity to score three more goals».
About clinching second place:
«Don’t ask me now, ask me in May… This team improves on a daily basis. We will speak about the goals we conceded. We must avoid childish errors. Each time something happens by a different player and we end up paying for it».
