PAOK FC president Iakovos Angelidis and technical director Zisis Vryzas attended the training session held on Friday at Nea Mesimvria. The two men spoke to Angelos Anastasiadis and, after the turbulence caused by the bad performance and loss to OFI, the team continue their preparation united and rallied ahead of the tough clash against Olympiacos.

The session consisted of ball circulation drills and tactical work with possession exercises in small spaces. The players also engaged in a half-pitch training match with specific restrictions regarding the team’s attacking deployment. Stefanos Athanasiadis trained normally without complaining of thigh pains, while those who started the OFI game continued their recuperation program with physical condition drills. Alexandros Tziolis continued with this recuperation program. Nikos Spyropoulos trained alongside him.

Dimitris Salpingidis did physical condition drills without ball. He will undergo a fitness test on Saturday to assess his availability for the encounter against Olympiacos. Charles Itandje trained in low intensity out of precaution as he complained of back pains, while Hedwiges Maduro did physiotherapy for his injured arm. The Dutch midfielder also had an MRI to access the extent of the injury sustained in the elbow ligaments. When the edema swells out, he will undergo further tests to determine his rehabilitation program.

Saturday’s training session is scheduled to start at 18.30 at Toumba Stadium.
