Angelos Anastasiadis spoke to NOVA TV about the upcoming encounter against Panathinaikos and also referred to his conclusions from the Florence game:
“We should be satisfied from the final result against ACF Fiorentina, after an especially mediocre first half. We were better after the interval, but still feel bitter after failing to hold on to victory deep into stoppage time. However we are still alive in Europe and we depend entirely on ourselves. Next up is a very tough encounter against Panathinaikos. They also played in Europe on Thursday, but didn’t travel as we did. They have a good coach and a good team. We have to collect ourselves and be ready for that match”.
About the second half at “Artemio Franchi”: “We play to win in all grounds, no matter the rival. I didn’t like at all our first half performance, we started poorly. That is a negative point. It is positive though that we fought hard afterwards. Now we should focus on Panathinaikos. Time is relentless on us. Playing on Thursdays and Sundays doesn’t let players fully recover. Thank God, so far we are coping. We are in fine form. I hope that will be the case on Sunday as well”.
About Panathinaikos: “They are a fine-tuned team, working with the same coach and had a very good last season. We shouldn’t focus on their ups and downs. It’s a high profile match. We should be disciplined, demure and not waste time, as we did against ACF Fiorentina”.
What will decide this match: “In all the aspects we have been working on so far: competitive discipline, running, all that. We must obey football rules!”
